I Scream, You Scream. Ice Cream Everywhere (Pt. 2)

Hi everyone, I am back for part two of this ice cream adventure. I broke it down in two parts because 1. the first post was getting too long for my liking 2. I was getting tired and 3. no one’s attention span would be able to go through 6 sections/different ice cream places.

So enjoy part 2!

Eva’s Original Chimneys

I’m pretty sure a lot of people have already heard of this place and or tried this place out. If you haven’t, you need to.

This is essentially vanilla soft serve cone but the catch here is the cone - its crispy, flaky, chewy, sweet and crunchy! The cone is a Hungarian pastry that’s baked hollow (of course - to put the ice cream) and its rolled in sugar. The bottom also has a chocolate ball - YUM.

Some locations sell other savory items as well - I have yet to try those. Also, if you’re not a fan of ice cream you can buy just the cone - which is the delicious part.

Again, if you haven’t tried this yet, you have to. Must try 10/10 recommend this one!

Here is their site. They have multiple locations including downtown Toronto and Square One in Mississauga.

Toast Delight

If you’ve never tried Hong Kong egg waffles before, you’re missing out! They’re more eggy and sort of custard flavoured in comparison to the typical waffle. The shape also looks like small eggs (imagine large bubble wrap - image will be below) which could be a good reason to call them egg waffles too.

If you get fresh and legit egg waffles (like this place does it) the outside will be very crispy and the inside will still be soft. It will also have that distinct egg/custardy flavour. A lot of places have been cheaping out on the recipe, making it taste like normal waffles but not this place.

They have a variety of egg waffle flavours to choose from their classic delicious original to something a little more different, like ube (purple yam) or Hong Kong milk tea flavour. Stick with the original if you’ve never tried egg waffles before! Then, add the ice cream and toppings of your choice.

They also have savory options, which I’ve never tried before but I bet it would be just as good. They have the egg waffle recipe perfected, so anything on it would be tasty!

You can find their website here.

Originally they only had one location open which was in Markham but it looks like they’ve now opened one in Waterloo?! If only they were opened when I was still studying in Waterloo - how sad. Still good nonetheless 9/10 would recommend.

Tendou Matcha & Dessert

This one is also in Markham and can be found in Patisserie Kirin. Unfortunately, I don’t remember much about this place except the fact that it was really far (since I don’t like in that area). But I’ll give you a bonus here (not ice cream) - the pastries, specifically the Zangetsu was delicious!!

I couldn’t find a website for them but you can find them on Instagram here.

Hopefully you at least enjoyed all the food photos. If you ever decide to try any of these places, let me know what you thought!

Enjoy
